Read the amounts carefully. A jury's damages figure is not what a plaintiff receives. Under California's comparative-fault rules a defendant found 3% at fault owes 3% of the non-economic damages (economic damages remain joint and several); large shares of fault were allocated to employers and to companies that settled before trial. Verdicts can be reduced or reversed after trial. None of the post-trial outcomes below has been confirmed by this project from a court record.

Failure-to-warn and punitive-damages claims were removed by nonsuit; plaintiffs dropped fraudulent concealment; the jury found no negligence and no design defect after less than a day of deliberation. Jury findings: Cambria liable for misrepresentation (32% of fault), Hyundai L&C for negligence (3%), employer Jordan Marble and Granite 63%, plaintiff 2%; Caesarstone, DuPont and Makita found not responsible. Defense counsel's release title states the jury found Cambria not negligent and its products not defective; the misrepresentation finding stands alongside that.

What this tracker does not show

Settlements. Most engineered-stone cases resolve privately. The only figures on the public record come from plaintiff counsel; two are listed, with their caveats, in the litigation tracker.
Net recoveries. No source reviewed by this project reports what any plaintiff actually collected after fault allocation, offsets, post-trial motions, fees and costs.
Court records. Los Angeles Superior Court records are not freely available in bulk. Until a record has been checked against the docket its label stays at "secondary" or "reported by an interested party", whatever the press coverage.
